The sources you provide are general discussions and do not provide any alternatives figures / estimates for global energy usage or global impact.

Nic Carter doesn’t seem to be an expert in the field of energy or environmental footprint.

The most recent and wide study of the impact of miners in scientific literature to date is the 3rd Global Cryptoasset Benchmarking Study.

It concludes in renewable penetration to be less than 40% in average.

There is also a complete study of the lifecycle of bitcoins here, done in 2018 :
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.est.9b05687

The amount of resources and energy wasted on this are absolutely insane. All this for a pure speculative asset, that cannot be used as a practical currency, even remotely.

At time of global warming and 6th mass extinction of species, such waste for pure gambling is a crime.

Bitcoin and any PoW cryptos are not physically sustainable : they are pure disaster and should be taken down by any mean.
